Nobody deserves that more than Dwight.

Well, other than Bush.

This is the first i've seen of the american version, but now I have to get it. If any of you haven't seen the british version, then watch it! It's pure class

I don't know if it's just me but I've always found Jim personally irritating. Even though Dwight is a complete tool and deserves it, because of the above fact I can never really enjoy these little skits. Yes, I realize this is a comedy series.

I can't get into The Office at all! There are a few funny scenes here and there, but can't laugh at it a lot like Seinfeld, Cosbys, Simpsons, etc.

I did enjoy the UK version more, but I fully expected the US version to suck hard. It's actually one of the funniest shows currently on TV, due in large part to the terrific cast.

Well the UK version was wonderful in it's own way, a mighty cringe-fest of fun. I was not expecting to like the US version at all, but with Mike Judge and the original UK creators, great writing plus a wonderful collection of actors it has won me over and also now that it's gotten past the similar story lines of the UK version I think it really has started to shine.

"but can't laugh at it a lot like Seinfeld, Cosbys, Simpsons, etc."

Have you seen an episode of the Cosby show lately? Doesn't age well.

I wish people would stop saying "I like the UK version better than the US"
I don't care, they are two different shows. Its like saying 'I like the book better than the movie'. oh yeah? stfu I don't care.

oh and us pwns uk version ftw.

My thoughts about the two different shows are that the first one you view regularly or like, you will always like more...One doesn't realize the drastic differences between the two and you expect the overseas counterpart to be the like your hometown favorite...thus you find yourself epically disappointed.

Downvote my comment warning:

"but can't laugh at it a lot like Seinfeld, Cosbys, Simpsons, etc."

I've never seen any scene, clip, or episode of seinfeld that ever got even a smile out of me. And i like stuff like curb, office, spaced, simpsons, family guy et al.

The UK and the US versions are certainly different animals but I prefer the UK version, mainly because I can relate to the location setting, and I think possibly there is the certain element of hopelessness which is lost in translation in the US version, However, as I have already stated, this could be down to locational variation.

For those who don't find the office funny, really, its not meant to be laugh out loud funny, the real humour for the show comes from desperation and the sheer cring factor for the characters, and the social commentary that it makes about how much some office workers enjoy their lives.

There is a poem by the late great sir John Betjemen about slough, (the location of the original, for those that don't know), which the first few lines are:

"Come friendly bombs and fall on Slough!
It isn't fit for humans now,
There isn't grass to graze a cow.
Swarm over, Death!"

That pretty much sums up why the location was set slough, just off a roundabout.

possibly the least memorable location ever.
